Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire

Have you heard the expression “Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire,” to shame someone who is deceitful?

Maybe quoting Psalm 34:13-14 would work better.

Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.

Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

The Word of God is always a better rebuke because it has the power of our Sovereign Lord in it. The second reason to quote these verses is that they provide an alternative to lying. The way for us to overcome lying is to stop it and to do good. If we seek true peace for those we speak with, we will not lie to them. True peace can only be found in Jesus Christ.

We can’t lie about that and say there is any other way of salvation than through him. If you want to know Jesus and his peace, watch my video on the Gospel on my profile page or on YouTube.

God bless you.
